About Department

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at GIMS offers comprehensive care across the spectrum of women’s health – including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services, family planning, infertility evaluation, and gynaecological disorder management. The department is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical demonstrations and skill-based training to ensure that learners develop strong clinical acumen, surgical skills and ethical, patient-centred practice.

Our Vision

Our vision is to integrate recent advances in obstetrics and gynaecology into medical teaching, while developing state-of-the-art labour rooms, operation theatres and diagnostic facilities for student training, patient care and research. We aspire to be a centre of excellence for women’s health, ensuring safe motherhood and improved quality of life for every woman we serve.

Our Mission

We foster student growth through innovative teaching and clinical exposure in obstetrics and gynaecology, equipping them for our speciality. At the same time, we provide high-quality, affordable care to women by offering essential diagnostic and therapeutic services, maintaining academic excellence, ethical practice and patient safety in both education and healthcare.

  • Letter of permission from Medical Council of India vide letter No. MCI-34(41) (E-60)/2019 .Med/ 115574 dated 20th May 2019 for starting MBBS course for 100 students. First batch of 100 students have been admitted and classes has been commenced since 01 Aug 2019.
