Vision & Mission

The Department of Ophthalmology, GIMS Greater Noida, is dedicated to improving community ocular health through an integrated approach of patient care, education, and research. Our mission is to achieve excellence by:

  • State-of-the-Art Care: Providing advanced medical facilities and evidence-based treatment to the residents of Gautambudhnagar and neighboring districts.
  • Preventative Screening: Maintaining regular patient care and screenings for vision-threatening diseases, including Diabetes and Glaucoma.
  • Medical Education: Imparting comprehensive training to undergraduate students, postgraduates, and nursing staff in ophthalmic patient care.
  • Scientific Research: Cultivating and sustaining an environment for basic and advanced scientific research at all levels of the department.
  • Advocacy: Promoting ocular health awareness and advocacy to ensure better outcomes for the community.

  • Letter of permission from Medical Council of India vide letter No. MCI-34(41) (E-60)/2019 .Med/ 115574 dated 20th May 2019 for starting MBBS course for 100 students. First batch of 100 students have been admitted and classes has been commenced since 01 Aug 2019.

CME & Academic Activities

Eye Donation Awareness CME – October 2026

A Continuing Medical Education (CME) program was organized in the Department of Ophthalmology on the topic "Eye Donation" during the Eye Donation Fortnight held in the month of October 2026. The program focused on spreading awareness about the importance of eye donation and encouraging the community to pledge for eye donation in order to help restore vision to those suffering from corneal blindness.

Myopia Awareness Week – March 2026

Myopia Week was celebrated in the month of March 2026 in the Department of Ophthalmology. An awareness program was organized for children and parents to educate them about the increasing prevalence of myopia and the importance of early detection and proper eye care.

The program included an interactive Parents and Doctors Interaction Session along with a Poster Competition to promote awareness about eye health among children.
