About the Department of Pediatrics

The Department of Pediatrics at Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to neonates, infants, children and adolescents. The department functions as an important tertiary care unit catering to patients from Greater Noida and adjoining districts of Western Uttar Pradesh.

The department offers both outpatient and inpatient services including neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, immunization services and developmental follow-up. It is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training programs and regularly conducts academic activities such as seminars, journal clubs, case presentations and clinical discussions.

With modern facilities, trained faculty and participation in national health programs, the department also contributes to community health through outreach camps, training of healthcare workers and research activities aimed at improving child health indicators.

  • Starting screening program for Inborn Errors of Metabolism in association with Department of Biochemistry.
  • To start fellowships and training courses for doctors and nurses including IAP Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship.

  • Organising IAP BLS and ALS workshops and Mechanical Ventilation workshops.
  • Further improving management services for thalassaemic children.
  • Starting Pediatric Flexible Bronchoscopy services.
