About Department

The Department of Pharmacology at GIMS is committed to high-quality teaching, research and clinical services in the field of drugs and therapeutics. The department supports undergraduate and postgraduate training, promotes rational drug use, contributes to pharmacovigilance and collaborates with clinical departments to optimise patient care and treatment outcomes.

Our Vision

The vision of the Department is to become a research-intensive academic centre in the disciplines of Pharmacology. This vision is not only to prepare the under and postgraduate students for their future success in life through a host of up-to-date courses in Pharmacology, but also help them to develop a rigorous scientific attitude so that they can serve the health-related professions in the best possible way, thereby improving the quality of life.

Our Mission

The Department of Pharmacology's mission encompasses: ensuring drug treatment safety, advising on preventing adverse reactions; providing high-quality medical education to undergraduates; conducting research with translational significance for enhanced healthcare; and establishing enhanced facilities to advance healthcare research and patient care, aligning with the overarching goal of improving medical practice and patient outcomes.
